Survival in the Arctic is a fiction about surviving in the Arctic overnight. Klippers and his friends need to stay in the arctic overnight due to accident, and in the story you will find out what they prepare for the cold and dark night to survive, including a shelter and fire. This book will talk about some techniques to stay alive in cold area, for example you need to drink more water. The book will also mention things you can see in the Arctic, for example like Aurora and elk.
We have designed a STEM activity for this book based on the level and topic. In the activity, students need to make a practical model simulating the scenario that Klippers and his friends survive in the Arctic overnight, including some techniques and preparation they did. Student need to use wooden stick, rods, iron wire (with plastic protection) or string, glue and also Sam Labs blocks like Light Sensor and Colour LED. Student will create a mini shelter with wood and also make use of coding to show the survival techniques they used.
